Apparently a certain Mr and Mrs Oda had named their daughter Mari.

Well, Mr and Mrs Arakawa named their child "Shizuka", as did Mr and Mrs
Kamei.

Those two go right over my head. Hint?

There's a professional ice skater (she won gold in the last olympics) called
"Shizuka Arakawa" and a famous politician called "Shizuka Kamei". I'm not
sure of the kanji first names but you can find them on the internet
(Wikipedia etc.). I was just thinking that although "odamari" is a strange
name, "Shizuka", which could mean the same thing, "quiet", is actually
common.

Hmmmmm.... I see a large difference in meaning between "odamari" and
"shizuka".

Grammatical difference too.
