Hello,
In Drohan's "Handbook of Japanese Grammar," Drohan lists several
bungo honorific verbs in current use. Two, おはします (modern
= ある, おる, いく, くる) and おほす
(modern = いう) are romanized as OWASHIMASU and OOSU.
The は romanized WA when it is not a particle and the
ほ romanized O occur multiple times in Drohan.
What are occasions when these romanizations are proper?
When their modern spellings are (would have been?) わ and お respectively.
