Thanks for the recommendation. I almost entirely rely on furigana so
will I have any problems? I can't much information or reviews on this
book. Price seems high, the cheapest I can find is around 55 for the
box set with the CDs.
Just IMO, I think you should dive into real things. I don't say
you shouldn't seek amother textbook, but if you have already finished
more than three books/methods, what you need is readling and hearing
a lot of real things, and so should be spending most of your studying
time on reading books, online Japanese sites, newspapers, etc., with
a dictionary at hand.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention this in my first post
but I'm using as many different materials as possible to improve my
Japanese studies, I have already started reading real material such as
Hiragana Times and various Japanese websites. However I still feel
that it would help to have an advanced grammar text book to help
reinforce new material.
If I might be so bold as to conjecture, I believe your main impediment is
not with advanced grammatical constructs but with Japanese rhetorical
strategy as contrasted with English. To this end, I would recommend three
books by Senko K. Maynard - "Expressive Japanese: A Reference Guide for
Sharing Emotion and Empathy", "Principles of Japanese Discourse", and
"Japanese Communication: Language and Thought in Context". Expressive
Japanese is the most recent:

However, although I think you'll find "Expressive Japanese" of tremendous
value, I would consider "Principles of Japanese Discourse" even more
relevant for your purposes. Unfortunately, the prices I've seen lately are
at least $10 higher than the $24.95 price I got from Borders when it came
out in 1998. You may want to consider a library or inter-library loan,
instead. Although this isn't the best price, the Cambridge site gives the
table of contents and a short assessment:
http://www.cambridge.org/us/catalogue/catalogue.asp?isbn=9780521599092
sterling. I should have given you the UK site especially since Cambridge
is a British institution:
http://www.cup.cam.ac.uk/uk/catalogue/catalogue.asp?isbn=9780521599092
Nevertheless, at today's exchange rate, the US price is a quarter to a
third less expensive than the UK price.
