The portion "itten no" is contracted from of is a compression of
what?
"-te-ru" goes "-te-n" before "-no" in casual conversation. (The English
translation all but gives it away!)
I don't think anyone would say "nan-te itte in-no," but there are lots
of cases where "rV" gets "n"ified. "Odamannasai," "wakannai," ettosetora.
