Check out the Kumon Recommended Reading List ( ).

This list includes both fiction and non-fiction, and has been
organized into levels corresponding to schools years, from pre-school
through to high school, according to the degree of difficulty (based
on sentence length, kanji density, etc).

I can't find the actual list on the Web, but you can get it from Kumon
classrooms, which are everywhere, or from the following link:
