Re: WWWJDIC Handwriting Interface

Does anyone use the old Handwriting Interface in WWWJDIC for
looking up kanji? I have had a trickle of emails saying it no longer works.

I tried it out on a few browser/OS combinations, and can't get it
to do anything meaningful. My guess is that the code (Java) is behaving
differently with more recent Java engines.

So, "write once, run everywhere, until it changes"? ;)

As I have totally lost track of the author, my inclination is to remove
it, at least from the main WWWJDIC menu. Maybe just leave a copy on one
site for historical recognition.

Then you need to archive the same generation of Java together?

If anyone wants it kept, please let me know.

On *nix side, there is a program called Tomoe:

(I think you already know, but just for reference)
I don't use it myself, though.
