You did so well with your reference on this that I was wondering if you had
another reference. Looking at the article you referenced, following its
links, and doing some searches on my own; it appears the preferred
convention is to use two letters when typing rather than the umlauted y (ÿ)
or the ij ligature (ij). However, I was not able to find an authoritative
style manual. Do you, perhaps, know of one?
