Now I wonder English word "cute" sounds close to "Kuijt" in Dutch.
(sure, è sound is missing)
He is absolutely not cute, btw. :)

'Cute' is pretty far off. If I had to katakanize it, I would use
カウット.
KWW

so the first sound is closer to カ than ケ? how about ケユット?

Not really even close. I think you are getting confused because "ij" is somewhere between エー and アイ, but that doesn't even matter. We are dealing with "uij", which sounds completely different. It rhymes with "ui", as in http://homepage.mac.com/schuffelen/dupron2/huispui.MP3.
KWW

Now I see, 'uij' is not 'ij' alone and Kuyt/Kuijt has initial 'u'
which is more close to Japanese /a/ than Japanese /e/. OK.
So /kaut/ is enough close (for non-NSoD). thx.
