It seems that I have seen somewhere someone write:

Instead of writing, 'He is so sick that he can't walk',
I saw him write, 'He is so sick as he can't walk.'

On a second thought, it is that the two expressions
are identical , except for the same use of 'as' as 'that'.

Now, 'as' can be interchangeable with 'that' in not so broad a scope but under limited circumstances as per cited?

Never mind.

H.W. Fowler has set the 'as'
at the same footing as the 'that'.
