I'd be more concerned with "thalesian" as a genitive, or as
an adjective, whichever way the fancy strikes one to parse
that sentence.

I'd also be more concerned with ta-te-se-ja -> taleseja.
te -> le? But perhaps it's a typo committed by Richard Sproat.

Ha! Someone noticed!

Fischer's translation is not Greek, archaic or other, it's utter
gibberish. It could not even be Pidgin Greek--we might imagine
that some form of Pidgin Greek was once used in the Mediterranean--
because Pidgins don't behave like that (i.e. case endings tagged
onto words at random).
