A cleric is driving a taxi? I hadn't realized the demise of the church
had progressed so far!

I think he'd have better luck with an academic or cleric. But, then
again, a taxi driver might be more forthcoming with a translation
and less like to thrash about on issues of hermeneutics and dialect.
After all, a taxi driver is paid to get you from point A to point B.
An academic will give you a half-dozen reasons why you can't get
to point B, and another dozen why you are not really at point A.
A cleric will tell you it is mere vanity to seek point B at all. ;-)
