Indeed. The Norwegian form is <hell>. Both correspond to OIcel
<heill>. Unfortunately, <held> is spelled in exactly the same way
as the imperative of Bokmål <helde> 'pour' and the present tense
of Nynorsk <halde> 'pour'.
The there are the <nd>'s for <n> or <nn>; they may be a bit more
difficult to spot, however.
It seems that <ld> and <nd> are used for what were once
palatalized /l/ and /n/.
