A II was popular indeed. During his time Finland got its own currency, the
markka, which surviced all the revolutions and wars, but was finally
defeated by the allmighty Euro.The Finnish language was declared equal to
Swedish and Russians, etc. etc.
The statue of A II was erected during the reign of N II actually as a
protest, because N II tried to russify the country.
Quite a devious lot, those Finns...
