Alright, I will explain it slowly. The context was the origin of
word-final inflections. I state that origin by grammaticalisation and
origin by postposition are the same process in that case.

It is quite normal in English to use such sentences as I did without
explaining their context. Since you are a nnative speaker of English,
I assume you understood.
