I know that men and women often speak somewhat differently, but the
differences are so small and so overshadowed by individual variation
that they are not reliable indicators of the sex of the speaker.
One cannot distinguish men from women with a high degree of certainty
based on USENET postings, for example, although one can make reasonable
guesses.

I use fabulous from time to time. I know very few people of either sex
who use darling with any real frequency at all.

I know these terms ... and so, apparently, do you.

Why not? I've said similar things.

I wasn't asking Deborah Tannen, I was asking you. And you cannot answer
my question.
