Well, even if I don't want to question your answer, I wouldn't recommend the
Esperanto translation of the Lord of the Rings. To me it was rather boring
and not superficial. Cp. for example Aulds rendering of Celeborn as
"Seleborno" or Galadriel as "Galadriela" *shiver*. I'm sure he knew nothing
of the situation of the Lord of the Rings in Tolkien's cosmos. The
translation of the Hobbit is much more worth reading. (I forgot the name of
the translator.)

Mi ne volas disputi pri via ghenerala respondo, kiu certe estas pli-malpli
prava, sed mi ne rekomendus la Esperantigon de la Mastro de l' Ringoj. Por
mi ghi estis tre enua, kvankam mi plurfoje legis la germanan tradukon kaj
la islandan kun ghuo. Auld neniel sukcesis kapti la etoson de la rakonto.
Che li ghi degeneras al romantikacha ferakonto. Indiketo por la kompleta
manko de la historia fono che Auld estas lia Esperantigo de la nomo
Celeborn kiel "Seleborno" (se mi ghuste memoras), au la idiota aldono de
vokala a-finajho al belaj virinaj nomoj kiel "Galadriel". Multe pli ghuebla
estas la traduko de la Hobito. (Mi forgesis la nomon de la tradukinto, ne
estis Auld.)

Bedaurinde mi ne konas alian, kompareblajn verkojn de la anglalingva
literaturo en e-a traduko.
