Yes. And for `ain the air flow is less intense, because of the partial
obstruction at the vocal chords. But that of course is what usually
happens with any voiced/voiceless pair of speech sound: voiceless are
usually also tense, and voiced sounds lax. Exceptions do exist, but
are rare.
