Thanks for the pointer. Do you know if this was _Languages and their speakers_ or _Languages and their status_? I can't find a comprehensive list of contents for either one.
It was the former. I read the book about seven years ago, but looking at descriptions of it on the net today I now realize it had a distinct anthropological slant. Hence it's unlikely to contain the detailed phonological information you're seeking.
