Albanian seems odd

I have studied a bit of Albanian, and it seems to me to be a rather odd
language.
Like, for instance, counting in Albanian:
The numbers 1 through 5 are: një, dy, tre, katër, pesë.
Sounds like normal Indo-European numbers, right?
Number 6 is "gjashtë"... "Gjashtë"??!! Where did that come from?!
Numbers 7 through 10 are: shtatë, tetë, nëntë, dhjetë.
Speaking of which, I like the "dh" sound. I think it makes the language
sound prettier. It is good to have a pretty language.
Rap music in Albanian is rather enjoyable to listen to, I think, (not
that I know what the words mean). I especially enjoy like it sometimes
when a woman raps in Albanian. When a woman raps in English, she too
often does not sound feminine. Albanian is a good language for feminine
music, I would think.
How old are the names of the months? Janar, shkurt (and yes, "shkurt"
is an appropriate name for the shortest month of the year), mars,
prill, maj, qershor (is June really when the cherries appear?), korrik
(wherever that name comes from), gusht, shtator, tetor, nëntor,
dhjetor (ah yes, the names for Sept.-Dec. are all off by two, as in
Spanish, Italian, etc.).
I'm surprised about "shtator" thru "dhjetor".
Now, some *really* weird stuff: "Verdhë" is *yellow* and "gjelbër" is
*green*, NOT the other way around! That is weird, isn't it?
More weird stuff: The language has a perfectly good "th" sound, yet
where English has "thermometer", "theology", etc., Albanian uses "t"
instead of "th"!
