"Ever" seems similar to "at any time". Your example ad sounds perfectly normal, to me.
I'm no native, but I can't imagine other way to write it. I suppose 'It's the best selection we have ever had' is an ellipsis.
One of the ancientest rituals of the sci.lang "community" is wondering what, if any, Ron's native langwidge is.

It does seem slightly stilted to me, though, and I would prefer ``It's the best selection we've ever had''.
