That explanation implies that the one who doesn't show up for an
appointment does so INTENTIONALLY. But that's not what "fong fei gei"
means. "fong fei gei" can be intentional or unintentional. E.g. if
you couldn't attend a dinner gathering because you were trapped in a
stopped lift, then you still have "fong fei gei"-ed, but that's not
intentional.
