I'm not so sure she'd be wanting to follow his example. After all, he had
her father beaten to death. Bachelet and her mother were also detained and
tortured in 1974.

Nevertheless, I suspect you're right as far as her surname is concerned.
But I rather doubt it when it comes to her given name.

She speaks Spanish, English, German, Portuguese, French and some Russian;
but not Araucanian, AFAIK.
