!!! of course! practically nobody knows or understands this. they
all think that the easiest thing would be to learn some kind of
everyday language. why are you interested in this question? it is an

I only know about English, and English is non-typical as a language in
many regards. Still,
I found that women learn more easily than men and that the best
learners, those that learn almost as if in a dream, do not get very
far; they seem to pick a language up as if they had an empty tape in
their brains and then they do not have any use for it.

there is yet another problem: what is the aim? at what point do you
really *know* a language?

For most adult people it would be necessary to read and write; spoken
exercises are too strenuous for them. But most people hate writing and
reading. They try to memorize instead. They fail.
