Thinking of it, the Fasnacht, started by the Morgestraich also shows some
quiet (???), slow steadiness. Almost no drunks, Bands and smaller groups
are marching aimlessly through the city, displaying the most crazy style of
drumming I've ever heard, but in a very controlled and disciplined fashion,
and to a very slow ground beat. This goes on steady-state around the clock
for three days, only interrupted by the corteges.
Even the Guggemusig (spelling?) blends into this. I couldn't go there in
the last years, but last time I was there it looked like the Samba drums
were gaining ground. I hope this did not increase. (I do like Samba, but
not then and there).
