freely-available corpora

Hi,

I'm looking for a medium-sized (10,000-100,000 sentence) freely-available English and/or Spanish corpus that contains simple to moderately-complex sentences. The sentences must all be grammatically correct, so, preferably, it should not contain dialog.

Any suggestions of where to look?
