I. Staive vs. dynamic
1. Exclusively stative verbs are for example : know, understand, own,
believe, belonge......
2. Verbs which can be dynamic and a stative depending upon the meaning
are: think, have, verbs of senses like feel, guess.....
3. Vers with limited dynamic sense: be, hope, forget
The number of pure stative verbs is indeed decreasing.
II. Regular vs. irregular verbs
In a way this can be compared with the decreasing number of irregular
verbs especially in AmE because reguar conjugation is easier and
quieter.
III. Link(ing) vs. action verbs
On the other hand actions verbs that take an adverb are sometimes (at
least in spoken language) used with adjectives (He spoke soft) instead
of adverbs as with linking verbs because the adjective is shorter:
Compare:
He went crazy
He went crazily
