particular imprints. Even a physical proof has been laid on the table.
Since written material by and large doesn't have "latent symmetries" and
most people don't embed keys into what they write with the view that
some day two thousand years hence someone else unfamiliar with the
script will want to decipher it from one lone document, it seems to me
that if the Phaistos disk has "latent symmetries" and what you imagine
to be a key embedded in it, then ipso facto it is NOT an example of
written material.

I tried that one when he first turned up a few months(?) ago, and he had
no response.

I don't understand his response this time. What are these "mystery
settings" that I managed unwittingly to avoid?

It is a puzzlement.
