It's still a haberdasher, in the sense that the word has not been replaced by any other. I suspect the drop in usage relates more to the decline of the genre of shop itself. Many haberdasher's reject the name as being outdated but they have yet to come up with a new mainstream term for what they sell, the closest I think being the "wool shop", which encroached upon the remit of the haberdasher until that too went into decline.

There's a haberdasher's at the end of the parade in Leamington (naming itself thus) which does a raring trade in materials for Asian women's clothes. I get all my buttons from there. I hope they keep calling themselves haberdashers. I like the word.
