I hate to break this to you, but "deja vu" is regarded as thoroughly
naturalised in UK English.

Deja vous is, deja vu isn't.

I suspect that friend Ruud is referring to the UK English pronunciation
of "déjà vu", which usually sounds like "déjà vous". Very few English
folk can say "vu" properly.

Why? I've heard quite ordinary English speaking Mormons saying [nAvu:]
(spelt Nauvoo).

[vu:] is exactly « vous » in French. [vy] would be « vu ».
