Are you not aware that in cases of damage to one or the other
hemisphere, the intact one takes over its functions?
I'm sure there are cases of infants with left-hemisphere brain trauma
who managed to acquire complete competence in their language
subsequently.
(Though how likely is such a patient to survive at all?)
