Re: Foreign Language Courses

Hi! I hope this is the right group for this question.

Can anyone recommend any good home courses to learn Arabic? Is there
one or two courses that are better than all the rest?

With all the things going on in the Middle East I've been reading a few
books about that area. I thought it would be interesting to try to learn
some basic Arabic.

I recommend the Teach Yourself series.

I think I read some time back that Arabic is much more difficult than
Spanish and western European languages. Is it a waste of time to even
attempt to learn a language like Arabic? Would it be better to go thru a
University (the local college says on their web site that they offer Arabic
based on student demand and professor availability).

Anyway, are their any good Arabic home courses (CD audio and book or PC
program)?

Thanks!
