Re: Universal grammar

Another flaw that has been fixed before is back again.
Longer lines are broken. When I reply to an author
who wrote very long lines, and reply with shorter lines,
they are still broken up, so I must make my lines very
short. In the course of the last months that bug was
removed from the old new version of the Google groups,
now it is back. Another bug has never been removed.
When I begin a line with the word
From
it is treated as a quote, and separated
from my text. Let's look whether this happens again.
A general word to computer people: we users like
functional sites that really work, we are enourmously
grateful when a site is not overloaded. Please make
it as simple as you can. I also take my time to think
so long as it takes to make my ideas simple, so that
everyone can follow. In fact this is where my work
and the one of my brother the informatician meet.
I never understood what he does. But one day he
told me that he is working so long on a program
that it gets shorter and shorter, and in the end it looks
as if he had done very little. But no, he used all his time
to make it really simple and functional, so that it works
in every case and for every application. I shook his hand,
I was so pleased. "Simple yet complex" is my formula
(see my Google profile), and he uses the very same
formula in his work as informatician. It is a good one.
Please consider it in your own work.

The functions "sort by reply / sort by date" (frame on the left
side) are back again. Obviously Google are working on the
new version. I looked up a dentist forum, there they complain
about lacking trees: how is one supposed to navigate a thread
and follow the discussions? They obviously encountered the
same problem as I did. "Go to the end" would be another function
that made navigating easier. Once I offered my services as a profi
moron to the Google company. I can sit at a computer like a moron,
at the same time I observe everything that happens, and can then
make propositions for better solutions. They said they don't need
me for the time being. Maybe my time has come now? One of my
brothers is an informatition. He says the computer business would
very much need someone like me, a professional moron. So I offer
my services again. Hello, Google company, here I am ...

The problem returned, long threads can't be navigated anymore
in the new version of Google Groups Beta. The functions view tree
/ sort by date are gone. Google was great because it was simple
and functional. Now there are a lot of frames, the title of a thread
in a gray line on top is visually unclear (white script, adjacent
white areas on the left and right side). I really hope Google
doesn't make the mistake of so many web designers who
cram their sites with frames, make them hard to read and
navigate, and choose to small fonts.

The "trees" are back, must have been a temporary problem
of the webstation in the library here. Sorry.

Google installed a new version of the Beta groups, for the time
being a facultatory one. I tested it a couple of days ago, and
found it okay. Today the "trees" are gone, and the discussions
are impossible to follow anymore, I am completely lost in the
longer threads. What do the computer cracks here in this thread
think of the new version? I came to like the old new one, and
now this ...
