i am wondering if the interpreter is protected by legislation in cases
where they mis-translate something in court, causing the defendants
testimony to cahnge, and thereofre the outcome of the court case.
You might want to check out Susan Berk-Seligson: "The Bilingual
Courtroom" (2nd ed Chicago 2002) for further information. It
appears to contain a table of cases as well.
