On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.
That's really not relevant to the facts I stated.
Be that as it may, it's what Mel Brooks says. They were sending up quality
material, not some TV series junk you might have liked.
On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.
And they were doing it in fully idiomatic English.
If you didn't appreciate "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.," then you were a
jerk even 40+ years ago.
What made the series work was that it took up the relation of men and women,
that the woman likes the James Bond dashing daring and accommodates the
Clouseau results, as something she's nevertheless satisfied with.
And this from the jerk who's always complaining about other people's
diction??
Watch 99's constant relation to Smart.
You're saying she was never unfaithful to him?
The Man from Uncle has no place in the idea.
Of course not. "Get Smart" just happened to have agencies (on both
sides) whose names were acronyms and spelled with a period after every
letter. (C.O.N.T.R.O.L. and K.A.O.S.)
The 5-season series is just out on DVD, by the way. You can check it yourself.
Whyever would I want to?
On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.
