your apparent stupidity

Stop it now, Brian, its more than enough. You lack
any understanding of puns, you know nothing about
the widespread use of folk etymology in language,
and I mean in official language. If a professor had
published a book on Puns, The Role of Association
in Language, Hardvard University Press, you would
accept puns and consider them obvious, but there
is no such book yet, and therefore puns do not play
a role for you, and so nobody else is allowed to take
them seriously. You can't make any observations on
your own. Heidi can, she often points out a relevant
riddle. When she asks a question in sci.lang, it mostly
leads to a discovery. Also her intuition about Ziu rihi,
realm of Ziu, as Alemannic overforming of Turicum,
is a very fine intuition. You would never come up with
something that good. All you can is consulting books.
You always need a professor to pave your way. You
are not able to make an observation of your own. What
do you know about the Alemannic practice of overforming
Gallo-Roman village names? Cossiniacum - belonging
to one Cossinius - Cossi Niacum - Kuess Nacht - Kissing
Night ... I got this from a book by a Swiss linguist, so
I did not crank it up myself. Take notice of this example.
Homer loved puns. Call him silly, stupid, pig-stupid, and
whatever hateful terms you are using. They fall back on
yourself, as you are not able to consider what you have
not come across in a book. What a pity.
