Out of 53 responses, it seems that 58% disagree that she should continue.

Yes, interesting, isn't it? Just as soon as I posted the results
of what 26 people posted, an additional flurry of activity happened
to ensure that that outcome would be overturned.

And that, I suppose, is why election results are NEVER announced
before the polls are closed.

It looks to me that the "nay" sayers were busy campaigning in
the background.

Is this your paranoia, or your egotism, imagining that sci,lang'ers
are furiously emailing around the world trying to influence your poll
results?

Are there even 53 sci.lang participants and
lurkers out there?

google groups claims there are almost 1000 "subscribers," whatever
that means.

With another 3 and a half weeks to go, calling in the results this early
and proclaiming a victory is not only foolish, but painful for others to
watch. There's something almost Al Gore about it all.

Ah well. This is indeed proving to be an interesting excercise.

These 31 dissenters could get busy writing up a charter
for a moderated sci.lang. All it requires is a moderation
program and a few moderators. The Usenet Admins
could choose to accept their request and will then
send out that "control" message to all the servers
around the globe.

When these 31 folks have their private moderated
newsgroup, they can then control who to let in
and who to keep out.

It appears to be you who are the control freak. Why don't you set up a
newsgroup for the discussion of your fantasies, and see if anyone
joins in?

As of 10:50 a.m. PST Feb. 16 the poll
results indicate:

23...40% agree, I should stay.
34...59% disagree, they want me to leave.

With 34 wishing to control who is in and who is out,
they should have enough people to advocate
for a moderated sci.lang.

Where does this say anything about "control"? Only Heidi talks about a
moderated group.
