Glossary of the new Magdalenian words, more figurative
compounds, part 3
SA PAD AAR --- downward (sa) go (pad) air (aar),
what goes down from the air, namely rain; Savitar,
husband of Sarasvati, goddess of the Milky Way,
heavenly abode of worthy souls. Poseidon must have
been a heavenly god in the origin, since Doric Poteidas
is close to Varuna's title pati- danunas 'lord of the water'
(Michael Janda), so we may link Poseidon with Savitar
and thus make him a consort of Sarasvati: her realm
was the heavenly river of the Milky Way, his realm
were the rivers on earth, filled with waters from above.
Now for the sun horse, old compounds from two years
ago, re-evaluated:
CA LAB --- sky (ca) cold (lab), winter sun horse,
visualized as the descending horses in a niche
at the rear of the axial gallery of the Lascaux cave;
origin of gallop, one may also consider German
Klepper for an old and tired horse
CA BEL --- sky (ca) warm (bel), spring sun horse,
visualized as the lovely "Chinese" horses in the
axial gallery of the Lascaux cave; cabel (c)abel
abelios afelios haelios - ancient Greek for sun,
ca(b)el cael sael sol - Latin sol for sun, cabel
ca(b)el cael sael sulia surya - Vedic for sun
CA BAL --- sky (ca) hot (bal), summer sun horse,
visualized as red horse rising from the horizon
in the rotunda of the Lascaux cave, Latin caballus
Italian cavallo Spanish caballo French cheval
for horse
Ancient Greek haelios, Latin sol, and Vedic surya
for sun are derived from the PIE stem *saH2ul,
in different ways, namely *saH2ueliio- *sH2uol
*suH2liio. I think CA BEL and the PIE stem *saH2ul
are well compatible, considering the dozen millennia
in between.

Glossary of the new Magdalenian words, more figurative
compounds, part 2
AD DA. AC CA --- toward (ad) coming from (da),
an expanse of land with water (ac) sky (ca),
double figurative compound denoting water flowing
in a plain. rivers going somewhere, coming from
somewhere, rain falling from the sky onto the earth;
Avestan udaka for water
SA AAR RAA AS --- downward (sa) air (aar) light (raa)
upward (as), a long figurative compound denoting
the Milky Way, realm of air and light, moving downward
and upward on the sky, heavenly abode of the worthy
rulers of a tribe; Vedic Sanskrit (Old Indic) saras for
pond, waters, also heavenly river, Milky Way, heavenly
abode of worthy souls (Michael Witzel, Michael Janda)
SA AAR RAA AS, PAD --- she who walks (pad) along
the Milky Way (sa aar raa as), realm of air and light,
moving downward and upward; Old Indic Sarasvati,
goddess of the Milky Way
PAD AD DA, PAS TON --- he who walks along rivers
(pad ad da) getting everywhere (pas) and making
himself heard (ton); Poteidas Poseidaon Poseidon
While Poseidon follows the rivers on earth, realm
of the living people, Sarasvati follows the heavenly
river of the Milky Way, abode of the souls of worthy
ancestors.

Glossary of the new Magdalenian words, more figurative
compounds, part 1
ACCA --- earth (ac) sky (ca), where earth and sky are
meeting (possible original name of Göbekli Tepe, written
as a lying H); Indo-European earth goddess akka
(a stammered name according to Pokorny, a meaningful
name in my opinion), Latin aqua for water, several Swiss
rivers are called Aa, Romantsch aua for water, German
Au or Aue for a wide river landscape
AD DA --- toward (ad) from (da), a river flowing toward
the sea, coming from the mountains; English water
AS SA --- upward (as) downward (sa), vapors, smoke
of a sacrificial fire and prayers for rain ascending to the
sky, rain falling from the sky, irrigating the fields and
filling the river beds; German Wasser for water
All three figurative compounds AC CA and AD DA and
AS SA would denote water, water in motion, moving
between earth and sky, and moving on earth, flowing
from one to another place ...
SA AS might have become Latin sax- for rock, while
the original form might have survived in the village
name of Saas Fee in the Swiss Alps.
AC CA AS might be a figurative compound designating
the sun horse moving between earth (ac) and sky (ca)
in upward direction (as), wherefrom *ekwos equus 'horse'.
PAC AS might be the horse (pac) in upward direction (as),
origin of the winged horse Pegasos, while the inverse form
AS PAC might have become Old Indic as'vah for horse.
PAD AD DA --- he who goes (pad, activity of feet) toward
(ad) coming from (da), he who follows rivers; Doric Poteidas,
oldest version of Poseidon, lord of the water (Michael Janda)
PAD AD DA, PAS TON --- he who follows rivers, getting
everywhere (pas) and making himself heard (ton);
Poteidas Poseidaon Poseidon

Appendix to the glossary of the new Magdalenian words,
part 66, a test (thirty-six)
In the same brillant paper Michael Janda interprets
the epithet of Hermes argeiphontes as bringer of dawn,
and while the name of Hermes is usually explained via
herma 'cairn, heap of stones', Janda explains it via eiro
'to fasten together in rows' from older *herio < *serio
cognate with Latin serere 'to link together'.
I explain the name of Hermes via Magdalenian CER
MAS --- divine stag, divine hind, shaman, shamaness
(cer) master (mas, actually the chief bull hunter). The
divine stags are seen in the rotunda of the Lascaux
cave, in front of the red sunhorse: midsummer sun
rising, and of the white bull beside her whose symbol
of nine elements indicates a full moon, hence a full
moon occuring on midsummer, begin of an ideal
calendar cycle. The heavenly version of the stags
are the summer constellations of Scorpio and
Sagittarius, representing the antlers of the divine
stag who protects the sun horse on her journey
across the sky during day, through the Underworld
by night, and (as shown in the rotunda) when leaving
the Underworld and ascending to the sky, hence the
divine stags in the rotunda of Lascaux are not really
the bringers but the protectors of dawn ...
Hermes links together, and the master shaman of old
who handled the complex Magdalenian calendar of
Lascaux linked together earth and sky as represented
by their cycles of days, lunations, and years, and his
tool of calculation was a heap of pebbles that he laid
out on a clay bank as his personal Stone Age computer
-- Windows 14,375 BC, if you allow me a joke.
