That's an either-or option.

Whoever puts those little stars is a total idiot. Such a miserable
schmuck with so little brains he can't even come up with any decent
posts, and has to answer his opponents by putting crosses istead of
signature. He can't even write. What a microscopic ***. Even his
woman cheats on him!

Such people are in need of treatment; most of them are unmarried and
suffering from Sanders' syndrome (gynophobia) and their life is an
awesome nightmare.

I think they deserve our pity. Let them have their moments of
happiness ;-)
