The name the American Indians have for North America is generally
translated as "Turtle Island". (Reminds one of ancient concepts of the
"world" supported by elephants standing on a giant turtle.) -- Izzy
Ancient? Terry Pratcher is ancient?
Javi
Pratcher is modern. Turtle Island is ancient.
For example, search for "turtle" in:
http://faculty.smu.edu/twalker/2222.htm
http://www.angelfire.com/mi4/polcrt/TurtleClan.html
http://www.ainc-inac.gc.ca/ch/rcap/sg/sgn5_e.html
My original comment was intended to raise the question whether ancient
Asian peoples knew that Turtle Island was on the other side of (that
is, underneath) their world.
