Nobody is suggesting it came out of blue sky. It came from the Romance
languages

What are we then going to do with the Germanic hring? Obviously, Latin

the IE languages started from the primal Hor-Gon basis in order to
define circle (Serbian krug, Greek krigos), but later on this "circle"
has been developed independently and differently in different
languages.
