Why would not you start to use your brains: Latin 'lana'; English
wool, fleece; Slavic 'volna' /vlna, vuna/; Greek áâïëëá thick woollen
cloak; ðéëïò wool made into felt;
Correct me if I am wrong but I think pilos means hat in Greek.
Or in ancient Greek it had the meaning you are stating above?
