language. (I still hardly speak Italian) Just using my knowledge of
Spanish. They're _that_ close.

ROFL. Of *course* it's easier with *context*. If I walked into a Thai
restaurant and was greeted by the staff with something I'd never heard
before, with smiles on their faces, I could reasonably assume it was one
of "hello", "good evening", or "welcome". If the languages are so close
as to be variants of one language as you insist, you should be able to
understand sentences like these *without* context.
