Input manual!
Within Unicode, the initial block (4E00..9FFF) and the two extensions
(A - 3400..4DBF and B - 20000..2A6DF), are ordered independently. It
can only get more chaotic when newly coined characters start being
added on a regular basis. The current orders already look chaotic
because the same character may be classified under different radicals
and assigned multiple stroke counts. The ordering within each of
these four blocks can only use one radical and one stroke count.
Flicking through the Han index at the back of the Unicode Book I soon
found a character listed under three different radicals.
Is the manual using some other method entirely? For example, is it
using the four corner method?
Was Mac Chinese (actually, Japanese came first; you had to install
your Japanese Language Kit before you could install your Chinese
Language Kit) devised before Unicode?
