Fr/lat/ru tu-vous/tu-vos/ты-вы: etymology ?

Hi,
Just for curiosity: the first persons of sing. and plural in
french, latin and russian are pretty close: is it by coincidence ?
What are the etymologies of ты and вы ?
I also saw that in hindi the french 'tu' is 'tum' (plus the very
familiar 'tu') too...
