Tame your temper, young man. I called my Magdalenian
approach to early language an experiment. Yes, it is an
experiment, and experiments won a place in science.
Experimental archaeology was at first not considered
scientific, now it has a firm place in archaeology.
Experimental math-history was not considered scientific
ten years ago, and I was expelled from a math history forum;
by now it is not yet really accepted but I was allowed back
into that forum. Experimental paleo-linguistics is not yet
considered scientific by you and almost everybody else
here in sci.lang, but I am confident that this will change
when I am 140 years old, by which time you may be
about 136 years old.
The implication of the above is that the UCLA Proceedings are or have
been published by the same Institute that publishes JIES. You failed
to mention that previously. It casts even further question on why you
refuse to consult JIES -- as your refusal could previously have been
considered part of an irrational aversion to that Institute, the sort
of "guilt by association" that you impose on Eric Stevens and Ross
Clark below.
I know the Proceedings of the Annual UCLA Indo-European
Conference, and I know a couple of further publications
of the Institute for the Study of Man at Washington D.C.
What is JIES ? Originally I asked whether anything is wrong
with the publications of the Washington Institute for the
Study of Man. You brought up the JIES. I don't know what
JIES means. Would you bother to explain, young man?
(I am 58 years old, how old are you? I guess about 54 years)
