Half a century before our own correspondent addressed the subject,
_Amazing Stories_ presented Mr Shaver's Lemurian Alphabet, wherein every
letter conveys a meaning. Apparently:
I thought you said it's the end? now you go on?
disccussing with me it's too much fun? you won't
miss it?
A - is for Animal
B - is to Be
see L
C - means See
D - is the harmful energy generated by the Sun
E - is Energy
F - means Fecund
G - means to Generate
H - means Human
Homo is the humming animal, see M
I - means I
I comes from AY for the left eye, inverse YA
means something like together, also German
Ja English Yes. OC means right eye, inverse
CO means to put together, reasoning, Latin
con-. OC CO means ego in Greek and Latin,
OC AY survives in okay, as explained many
times before. The American Indians are
genetically Siberians who wandered across
the Bering Strait some 12,000 years ago
(result of a very recent gentic study) so they
were late Magdalenians and could have
brought oc ay with them, and it would have
survived in one of the Indian languages
(whose name I forgot, but we discussed this
recently, and at length).
J - is the same as G - generate
K - means Kinetic, as in motion or energy
L - is Life
Not bad. The word is -: I -: (pronounce the sound
indicated by -: by touching the lips with the tip
of your tongue), derivatives are ancient Greek lilazo
for I desire, Latin bibere. thirst being a powerful desire,
Ugaritic dd for beloved, Phoenician Dido for loved one,
and German Leben for life (!) , Liebe for love. Sticking
out the tongue and licking the lips still is a sign of lust,
approval, and desire. The large hind of Altamira is
licking the horns of a small bull under her, licking the
animal into life, and as the bull represent the moon
or rather a lunation, she is creating time, another
period of either 30 or 29 days or nights, to be counted
as 30 29 30 29 30 ..., hince the divine hind CER is
generating life-time for the people of Altamira ...
L for life is not a bad guess, the best in this curious
list of a letterologist (if a numerologist attributes
symbolical and psychological and fate-deciding
meaning to numbers, then a litterologist does the
same with letters. Wouldn't have thought it possible,
but obviously everything is.
M - means Man
M or rather Mm is a humming sound marking
presence. I believe that already Homo erectus
marked presence humming, for example in
a line of hunters marching to the right side:
H G F E D C B A
H looks backward and hums periodically if all is
okay. G looks to the left; when he hears H humming
and when all is right on the left side he hums too.
F looks to the right side, and when he hears G
humming, and when nothing is wrong on the right
side, he hums. E looks to the left side, etc. Finally
the signal arrives at A, the leader who looks forward.
If he doesn't hear the periodically arriving hum from
B, something went wrong. So this would be a very
simple means of communicating while the eyes
are occupied scanning the surroundings.
N - means child, as in 'ninny'
Many words for I (ego) in Australian languages
begin on N, so I postulate also humming Nn in
very early language, also marking presence.
O - means Orifice, a source
P - is Power
Q - means Quest
R - horror; signifies a large amount of D present
S - means the Sun, which emits D
T - is the beneficial force, the opposite of D
U - means You
V - Vital; in Shaver's words, 'the stuff Mesmer calls animal
magnetism.'
W - Will
X - Conflict, sometimes meaning D and T in opposition
Y - means Why
Z - means Zero, or when T and D cancel one another out
And a few examples:
ARREST--Animal stops to rest (the ar syllable means is dangerously
stopped)
BARD--Bar de (one who allays depressing de force, who over-joys us,
decreases depression)
BIG--Be I generate (in the act of generation, as pregnant)
BILK--Be ill kinetic (to run away from ill, to dodge--K for movement)
DARK--Detrimental horrible movement (harrowing things we are apt to see
"in the dark")
LADY--Lay de (allay depression; complimentary term)
MAD--Man a de (one who may de, be apt to destroy)
MORBID--More be I de (I don't want to be any more, I want to die)
OBSCENE--Orifice see charm (orifice meant source of life, thus the
meaning is evident)
ZEAL--Zero all (foolish ardor to zeal)
I'm sure some readers will be able to apply this to analysis of many of
the more obscure postings on this newsgroup.
