You didn't construct the species, but you constructed the garden that
they grow in.
For many years, German was a collection of very similar dialects
until Martin Luther translated the Bible into German. Rather than
choosing one of the existing dialects, he used sort of an average one
(like Interlingua, compared to the romance languages), and that
language became the standard literary language for the area, which
itself became Germany. Eventually, some people even began speaking
it.
For many years, Norwegian was also a collection of similar dialects,
with no written language at all. If one Norwegian wanted to write to
another, he'd have to do it in Danish. Eventually, written Danish was
adapted to represent a rather average dialect of Norwegian, and the
script was called "Bokmaal" (the "aa" should actually be the letter A-
ring). Another form of the written language was developed later,
called "Nynorsk".
Bahasa Indonesia is a constructed language.
