Following the twisted logic of those who think as you and Brainy we
could also claim that Sweden 'tysk' (German) is derived from
'tyst' (quiet, silent, still)?
Since I haven't expressed an opinion on the matter, it's funny that you
believe yourself to know how I think on this matter. All I did was
respond to your attempt to disprove the theory by asking a rhetorical
question. Try paying closer to attention.
Fine... What is the problem then?
I cannot see that I have asked any question, especially not a
rhetorical one.
You don't think "Why wouldn't the Greeks or the Mongols be 'tongueless'
too?" is a question? It's right there above if you need to look at it
again. Is the problem that you have the attention span of a gnat and
can't remember from one posting to the next what it is you're discussing?
Now see what you did? You made Harlan ask a rhetorical question
to which, no doubt, he already knows the answer.

Go back and read again. Harlan wrote: "Only a complete idiot would
think that by asking
a rhetorical question he has disproved a theory."

According to Harlan's own words, who is the one who is "trying to
disprove some
(established?) theory by asking a rhetorical question"?

I wasn't trying to prove anything. I wasn't presenting a rhetorical question as a proof regarding the stated origin of a name for the Germans.
Besides that, my questions weren't rhetorical. I intended for you to answer them.
