the qualifications for the Messiah are articulated in the OT,

the word used there is "son of an 3alma (young woman)" but this was
transalted as "virgin" in the LXX.

By default all guys are sons of a woman, and usually the woman is young,
and at that time people didn't live to old age so often, so what would
be the point in mentioning that the Messiah would be the son of a young
woman? It's more likely that some special meaning was intended by that.
Not that with all the people contemporay with Isaiah long gone we are in
a very good position to pinpoint it, but 'virgin' doesn't seem unreasonable.

Many Biblical figures were not sons of young women; this
includes Isaac, Jacob, Benjamin, and Moses.

the Gospels seek to prove that Jesus was the Messiah", but they chose
to follow the LXX rather than the hebrew bible and made Jesus into
the son of a virgin. this reasoning assumes hte gospels are more of a
literary device. but yes, if one takes the word of the gospels, Jesus
was the son of a virgin.

Hey, one can also take the word of the Quran.
