That looks like IZIZ (or perhaps ZIZI) in a Greek or Greek-derived alphabet. My guess is that it is an abbreviated identification of the woman who owned the loomweight, either Iz[...] daughter of Iz[...] or Zi[...]
daughter of Zi[...]. This would have sufficed to identify the owner within the community.
From the imprint it seems written from right to left.
I figured that the last letter (on the left) is probably a
Z. But what about the other letter. Is this just a variant
of the same Z? Afaik, it isn't known anywhere else.
